It’s pretty easy for your kitchen sink to become incredibly dirty. After all, you usually clean dishes, cutlery and all other kitchen apparatus there, so it is no surprise that they get unclean pretty quickly. Even though stainless steel is a good material to use, maintaining that new shine that radiates from a stainless steel sink is not something that most people do.

We have previously given you some great kitchen cleaning tips, while this post from Kitchen Warehouse takes a look specifically at your stainless steel sink and how to make it shiny again. If you want to keep it looking new by regularly cleaning a stainless steel sink then there are a few tips and tricks that will achieve the desired effect.

Using Baking Soda

This is probably the most common method of cleaning your stainless steel sink and getting it to shine again. To achieve this you simply mix a baking soda and water into a paste and spread it over the sink. Baking soda is fantastic because it is great at removing food stains, grease and water deposits. Add in a small amount of vinegar which will cause the paste to fizz and then clean the paste away. Your stainless steel sink will look a lot cleaner once you have done this.

Consider Using Flour

Not that many people know about this method, but it can be very effective! Put a few tablespoons worth of all-purpose flour into the sink and then use a soft cloth to rub it around. How to Make a Stainless Steel Sink Shiny Again

Admittedly, this does require a bit of elbow grease (but not a massive amount by any means!). When complete, simply rinse it away. You should find that your stainless steel sink has got some of its shine back again and will look cleaner as well.

Vinegar For Water Spots

Water spots can leave annoying marks on your stainless steel sink, but they are very easy to get rid of.

Dip a sponge in some white vinegar and get rubbing! It really does not take a lot of effort to clean water spots from a sink and the vinegar will get rid of them straight away. You only need to run the water through the sink to clean up afterwards! In fact, if you have rust then you can use some rubbing alcohol which will take it off pretty easily.

Baby Oil For Shine

Finally, did you know that you can use baby oil to get that new shine back into your stainless steel sink? Just add a few drops of baby oil onto a paper cloth and wipe your stainless steel sink. It will add a layer of shine to your sink that you probably have not seen since you first got it. This is a simple tip but one that is rarely ever used.
