Review

I always get asked what kind of kitchen I have in my own home, So I thought I would take some pictures of my own kitchen and put them on the gallery page of our website. For me, there was only one style of kitchen I wanted in my own home. It was always going to be a painted timber kitchen because in my opinion solid timber kitchen doors are the best kind of kitchen doors you can buy.  They are made from real wood and will last forever.

The kitchen range I went for is called Wakefield. I decided to have a two-toned kitchen, but picking the colour was the hard part to decide on, we offer 28 standard paint to order colours in our painted kitchen ranges.

The colour of your kitchen doors is one of the most important decisions you need to make when choosing your kitchen. The colour of your kitchen cabinet doors will determine the theme and style of your kitchen, it will be a big factor in determining what floor tiles you have and what colour of worktops you go for. All these visual products in your kitchen need to go hand in hand and complement each other, perfectly for your kitchen to look amazing.

When picking a new kitchen, you need to get some ideas of the overall look you are wanting to achieve and try to replicate the same kind of materials and colours into your own space.

I wanted to try to keep everything light and bright which ultimately would make the room feel bigger than it is. I personally love the look and feel of light grey kitchens and they are very on trend now, so my aim was to base my kitchen round been light grey but to keep the overall feeling of the space light and bright.

We have found over the last 2 years we sell more grey kitchens than ivory kitchens or white kitchens which is unheard of. I do get asked all the time if I think that grey kitchens will go out of fashion like burnt orange kitchens or lime green ones.

Personally I don’t feel they will and, grey is not a colour as such it is a tone, which is on the white and black spectrum, this means you can add pretty much any colour into the kitchen and that is your first colour or tone to the kitchen and will become the accent tone to the space, The other big plus to having a grey kitchen is it will tone in with almost any other colour.

With having the above in mind, I went for light grey kitchen cabinets on the main area of my kitchen and dust grey kitchen units on the island and larder units round the American fridge freezer.

To keep the kitchen light, I went for a white quartz worktop with the waterfall effect down the end of the island and sink run. This is where the worktop is returned down to the floor as an end panel it is a more expensive option to finish off the run but adds a striking detail to the kitchen.

I also decided to go for full quartz splashbacks on the wall and window sill instead of having upstands.

My favourite bits of our kitchen is the curved larder units on either side of the American fridge freezer. These do look amazing the pictures don’t do them justice, we do offer many specialist items like these, but they are only available to buy through our showroom.

One of the other features I like about my kitchen is the curved posts on the side of the bank of tall units where the ovens are, also on the wall units either side of the extractor fan.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Our passion is kitchens and we would love to help you achieve a fantastic kitchen in your own home. I would always recommend a visit to our showroom as the number of products we offer is massive compared to the amount available on our website.

One of the big advantages to visiting our showroom is our staff are very knowledgeable about the products we supply and have a lot of experience in the kitchen industry and are very happy to share that experience with you. They all have some great ideas and are passionate about what we do.  We are here to help you achieve a stunning kitchen in your own home at the fraction of the cost of a high street retailer.
