How to build a flat-pack
kitchen base unit
A quick video showing how simple and easy using our pre-inserted cam and dowel system is to build a typical base unit. Using this method you are easily able to put together a base unit like this in minutes. Giving you an easy to build a base unit with great quality.
Method
- Make sure you are working in a clean area and have plenty of room to build the unit
- Lay out all pieces so you can pick these easily. Make sure to use a soft surface/covering as to not scratch the unit
- Starting with a side panel of the unit lay this with the holes facing upwards.
- Next grabbing the base unit top rail we can insert this with the cams facing outwards.
- Tighten the cam to secure the piece in place.
- Continue with the same bottom piece and back piece. Tightening each cam as you go around
- Place the other side panel on and tighten the cams to finish the main part of the unit
- Turn the unit upside down and place the legs bases in the holes with the flange over the side panel to give extra support
- Using a hammer, hammer the centre piece into the hole to secure the leg base.
- Using 4 * 3.5mm x 16mm screws further secure the leg base
- Screw the two final leg pieces together and place in the leg base
- Turn the base unit the correct way up.
- Place the shelf supports in the unit and place the shelf in the unit.
