I originally heard of Kitchen Warehouse on local radio and would regularly pass their business on my commute to work and one occasion I popped in to take a brief look in their showroom – that was about 3 years ago.
Having eventually completed an extensive house renovation the kitchen was the last big-ticket item on the list, but having looked at some of the kitchen retailers in the town and having received a couple of designs and quotes it became clear that we would have to either curb our ambitions, compromise on design or double our budget.
Friends of ours had been busy renovating their new home and a brief conversation led to the subject of kitchens. It turned out they had used KW and invited us round one evening to see what they had done. We had the grand tour and then went in to see their fabulous new kitchen.
Having shared our own research and experience to date, not only were we impressed by the quality, finish and value but we also learnt that KW had ran the whole job including plastering, plumbing, electrics, surfaces and appliances, I made my mind up it was time for a second look and a conversation with KW.
When I popped back in to their Ripon showroom at about 5pm on my way home from work I met Simon and shared our experiences and vision for our kitchen. Over the next couple of hours and despite it being the end of the day Simon listened as we discussed my outline design and requirements. At no point did Simon try to change my mind or tell me I couldn’t have what I thought I wanted he just listened offered practical advice and solutions before telling me he would like to take on the challenge and come in under budget.
From then on it felt so straight forward. Simon came up with the detailed plans and took us through his process which included some new ideas which we really liked. A site visit confirmed the detailed technical drawings along with our requirements for joinery, plumbing and electrical and glazing work. A series of follow up meetings enabled us to finalise the all-important colours and textures of the furniture, work surfaces, appliances and brass wear.
The work itself lasted 3 weeks as scheduled, from removal of the old kitchen and appliances, to the construction of stud walls and plastering, to first and second fix plumbing and electrics, all works ran so smoothly with an expert dedicated joiner and kitchen fitter overseeing the whole job and who’s attention to detail was impeccable. With Simon overseeing the manufacture and schedule from their office whilst maintaining regular telephone and email contact including site visits there were no problems that they couldn’t handle and nothing was too much trouble, together a professional team delivered a great outcome and an excellent customer experience.
Our favourite part of the kitchen is our larder cupboard with its drawers for dry goods, herbs and spices and lots of shelving and an integrated work surface for my coffee machine and thanks to Simon we love our hot tap.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend KW to help deliver your kitchen ideas.
Many thanks
