I’d like to say a massive thanks for your help with this kitchen project, As promised here are some pictures of the finished thing for your website with a description of the whole experience.
I’m an independent builder in Hartlepool who specialises in luxury extensions and building work. We try to offer our customer something special that is a bit different and has the WOW factor that everyone desires.
On this project the budget was tight to achieve what my client wanted with the money they had to spend. The main place I was struggling to come in on budget for this project was the kitchen itself.
My client had been to magnet and had their heart set on the Astral blue kitchen range, but there was no way I could supply what they wanted with the money they had allocated for the kitchen. So after talking to a few people we discovered that Wickes was doing a kitchen that looked very similar this was called Esker kitchen range by Wickes. Again after showing Wickes our kitchen plans the price came in at around the same,
A day or two later I was speaking to one of my friends about the problem I was having sourcing this metallic blue kitchen, He told me his neighbour had just bought a large cream gloss kitchen from kitchen warehouse and they nearly bought a metallic blue kitchen from there, so we popped round next door to see his neighbour and his kitchen, he said that kitchen warehouse had a blue gloss kitchen on display in there showroom and they nearly bought it but just was not brave enough so they went for cream to be safe. I had a good look round his kitchen it was really nice quality. He told me to give them a try because they were a lot cheaper than the other quotes he had received.
So on this information, I went down to Ripon and had a look for myself. They called there kitchen range Stardust, but it looked the same as Magnets astral blue kitchen and Wickes Esker to me, So I got it priced up while I was there, it worked out at about 40% less than the other two quotes, even after I had said I wanted it as rigid kitchen rather than a flat-pack kitchen. Simon told me, we do offer this service but it is an extra 10% more to have the units delivered as rigid units with the doors and drawers already fitted plus a £ 1 per mile for delivery. I was made up with the price as it meant I could give my customer what they wanted and still come in on budget.
I rang my client and got them to come down to the showroom and have a look for themselves, I wanted them to come and make sure they was still happy to proceed with the metallic blue kitchen as we had kind of discussed other options, after not been able to get that range with the money they had to spend. When they arrived I showed them the kitchen display and explained the situation and the price. They were as happy was with the quality and the price of the kitchen and we ordered the kitchen there and then.
4 weeks later the kitchen was delivered and it went in a dream. I have ordered another two kitchens from Simon since this one and will be using kitchen warehouses for all my kitchens from now on, The customer service is second to none, the products is great, the price is cheap, the units are good quality solid kitchen units and the doors are as good as I have seen anywhere else, and believe me I have definitely looked. To sum up what they do in a few words is “really good quality cheap kitchen”
Hopefully I will have you some more pictures of the next one soon
