Mr Jeffries, York

We recently supplied and installed Mr Jeffries from York with this Ashton Cole designer new kitchen. This kitchen is one of the largest kitchens we have supplied this year. Mr Jeffries wanted the best of the best with all the trimmings, he wanted painted wooden kitchen doors with glass wall units, pull out mechanisms, curved corner posts and decorative pilaster posts for the island, he wanted as much character and style to be added to his kitchen as possible. His words where “I want people who visit my house to go wow look at that and that and that”. So we worked with Mr Jeffries listened to his requirements and altered his existing design to ensure he got as much flare and style as possible without been flash or over the top.

The large wall of tall units looks stunning with the two pull out mechanisms. Built in ovens, coffee machine and microwave, the way it wraps around on to the worktop took a bit of figuring out to make it work and look correct but I feel we got there in the end. The lights in the flyover shelves above the windows really bring the whole kitchen together and make it look complete in my opinion. Mr Jeffries wanted a large break front along the sink run to give this area a bit of characters. We achieved this with small curved corner posts at either end of the run.

The island was a very important part of the design to Mr Jeffries; he wanted to be able to cook for friends whilst still been able to talk to them. The kitchen island needed to be very large and in a complementing painted colour in the end he choice sage green which works perfectly. We added decorative bench posts to the back of the island to give this a bit more class and a large 2200mm x 1200mm solid oak worktop for the island top. As nobody makes a solid wood worktop at this size we had to join 2 solid oak worktops back to back and then sand them into each other.

The overall finish of this kitchen is stunning most probably my favourite project we have fitted up to press. The kitchen looks absolutely amazing we are proud to say we fitted it. It was really nice to have a project where the customer says go wild, I want as much cool stuff as you can fit in, make it look amazing, I want it to be the focus point in my home, he was definitely a pleasure to work with.
